Working under the direction of Media Catalyst, I was tasked with re-creating the online presence for Variety Magazine. There were strict design requirements for this large dynamic CMS driven site. Advertising revenue was important, so a full spectrum of banner ads had to be taken into consideration as the interface was developed. The goal was to create the feel of physical printed pages within a digital medium, but also to use as much HTML text as possible to keep the site easy to update, edit, and download. The resulting site is a marked improvement to the original, and sets the standard for all online entertainment magazines.
